Questioning the Brain
Humor January 4th, 2010Here’s one of the strange stories that made me reach into the deep recesses of my brain and ask the question “Are you losing it?”
I was driving to the restaurant this morning and watched as the windshield wipers swept dirty snow all over. “I need to get those heavy duty wipers,” I said to myself. The ones on my SUV just aren’t cutting it up here in New England. We’ve have snow (and wind) for days now.
So, yes, I think it’s time for new wipers. As I was contemplating this issue, I noticed a yellow circle on the wiper bar.
“Hmmmm,” I thought. I never noticed that circle before. Then I drew my gaze over to the other wiper bar, and sure enough, there was a yellow circle on that one too!
What’s the purpose of that circle? Is it an indicator to replace the blades? Probably not.
Why had I never noticed those circles before? I’ve had the car for eight years now. Never once have I seen them.
Was I losing it?
And so that’s pretty much how my day started today. Wondering about the purpose of the circles, thinking about how I never saw them before, and questioning my brain’s storage capacity for trivial things that really don’t matter in the large scope of things anyway.
Then again, really, what are those circles for????
